Job Summary:
​The Assistant Service Supervisor in the Service Department (Maritime) plays a crucial role in supporting the VP – Sales and Service Maritime, in managing daily operations of maritime department. This position involves coordinating tasks, assisting in team supervision, and ensuring quality service delivery. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in maritime industry and a passion for team collaboration and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:

Team support

Assist the Service Operations Manager/Head/VP Sales & Service - Maritime in managing the team of service engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support as needed.

Help coordinate daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow among team members.

Service operations coordination
-
Support the planning and scheduling of maritime service deployments, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet job deadlines.

Monitor ongoing service activities and assist in troubleshooting issues that arise during operations.

Customer interaction
-
Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries & issues/concerns and providing updates on service progress under the guidance of the OM/Head/ VP Sales & Service Maritime

Assist in gathering customer feedback to enhance service quality and address any concerns.

Quality assurance and safety
-
Help implement safety protocols and quality control measures in all service operations.
-
Participate in regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Technical assistance
-
Provide technical support to service engineers during project execution, helping to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and service issues.

Stay updated on maritime engineering practices and assist in training team members as necessary.

Performance monitoring

Assist in monitoring team performance and service delivery through key performance indicators (KPIs).

Help prepare reports on service activities, performance metrics, and customer feedback for management review.

Documentation and reporting

Maintain accurate records of service activities, including equipment usage and maintenance performed.

Assist in the preparation of documentation for compliance and project tracking

Assist in certification and permits compliance.

Continuous improvement

Identify areas for process improvement and contribute ideas to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness.

Participate in team meetings to discuss challenges, share insights, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:
-
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a maritime industry; supervisory experience is a plus.

Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic understanding of maritime engineering principles and practices.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
